How to connect an active subwoofer to a computer

First you need to make sure that the sound card is compatible with the device. To do this, study the instructions of the equipment or search for information on the Internet, driving in the necessary characteristics. In addition, check whether the number of inputs on the card matches the number of speaker inputs. The subwoofer connector is separate. If there is no special connector, then you can experiment and connect the device through the input for the speakers.

  1. Turn off the computer( the subwoofer and speakers should also be turned off).
  2. Fasten the terminals to the acoustic wires on both sides.
  3. Connect one end to the speaker and one to the subwoofer( the inputs are located on the back of the devices).Similarly, connect all available speakers.
  4. Connect the speakers and sound card using 3.5 mm jack cable.
  5. Connect the subwoofer to the sound card through a dedicated input. If there is no input, connect the subwoofer instead of the side speakers.
  6. Turn on the computer and wait for the operating system to fully boot.
  7. Plug the subwoofer into an outlet and press the power button of the device and speakers.
  8. If a dialog box with a text message appears, you must click on the "Ok" button.
  9. Next, you need to right-click on the speaker icon, which is located on the taskbar of the computer.
  10. Select "Volume Settings" and check the required checkboxes.
  11. Adjust the volume and press the "OK" button.

  4. Connect the other end to the amplifier.

  6. Plug the subwoofer into a power outlet and press the power button of the device and amplifier.
